Freddy’s Famous Fry Sauce offers a tangy twist on traditional ketchup. Our fry sauce was created and taste-tested with Freddy’s Team Members until they perfected what is today’s one-of-a-kind recipe. This special dipping sauce was originally introduced to be paired with our crispy shoestring fries, but you all love it so much you also enjoy it with burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and other food in our restaurants and at home. With the sauce’s popularity came requests for a spicy version from our Guests who love that extra kick, so we now also serve Freddy’s Famous Jalapeno Fry Sauce®.
The History of Fry Sauce
Legend has it that fry sauce was made popular by Utah restauranteur Don Carlos Edwards in the 1940s for his restaurant.
As you know (or maybe are just now learning), Freddy’s was founded in Wichita, Kan. – so why did we decide to bring fry sauce to Wichita and perfect the recipe for Freddy’s? Well, it’s simple; we love it! Freddy Simon’s son and Freddy’s co-founder, Randy Simon, tasted it just after Freddy’s was founded, he knew we had to create a one-of-a-kind fry sauce recipe for Freddy’s Guests to enjoy.
